About

Catharine Leona Joy Minter Parks was born in Chatham, Ontario, and raised in a strict religious upbringing that shaped much of her early years. As a child, she yearned for more—more adventure, more freedom, and more expression of the beauty she saw around her. Her creative spirit led her to sneak out with her brother to experience the world through dances, plays, and movies.

For over four decades, writing has become Catharine’s most important endeavour—a ministry through which she hopes to reach the hearts of many.—and The Ngala Chronicles was born from a vivid dream she had many years ago, in which she was chased by shapeshifters from an African tribe, some of whom turned into elephants when angered. The theme of this dream, ultimately, the book was forgiveness, and it has become the central message Catharine hopes to share with her readers. She believes that forgiveness is key to spiritual healing, and her faith deeply influences her writing, especially as she draws on the supernatural experiences she’s lived through.

Catharine’s writing journey reflects her deep conviction that we must forgive those who have wronged us, as forgiveness is vital to our own salvation. Her stories—whether in song or prose—are inspired by her own walk of faith and the transformative power of grace. With The Ngala Chronicles, she brings a message of identity, purpose, and redemption, inviting readers to join her in exploring the power of forgiveness and its ability to change the world.
